Arrest For Attempted Murder Of Raymond Man

MADERA COUNTY – Sheriff John Anderson announced this afternoon the arrest of an Eastern Madera County woman wanted for a shooting in Raymond. Rachel Diane Silva, 29, wanted since Apr. 6 for assault with a firearm, was captured by sheriff’s deputies this afternoon at Hensley Lake.

No Injuries In Fender Bender At Royal Oaks

OAKHURST – An ill-advised left turn onto Royal Oaks Drive this afternoon caused damage to two vehicles on Highway 41. Adrienne LaFarge, 64, of San Mateo, was southbound on Highway 41 in a 2013 Hyundai when, according to CHP Officer Tomazian, she “violated the right of way” of a vehicle headed northbound.

Truck vs. Car At Victoria Lane

OAKHURST – A truck owned by Lister Rents of Oakhurst was struck by a Mercedes this afternoon while turning onto Highway 41. Jason Lister, 32, of Oakhurst, driving a Lister Rents truck, had stopped at the stop sign on Victoria Lane at Highway 41. He then pulled out onto the highway, making a left-hand turn to head north into town.

MADERA COUNTY – Never mind buyer beware, Sheriff John Anderson is now alerting merchants to a growing criminal trend involving credit/debit card fraud costing retailers thousands and thousands of dollars.
