AHWAHNEE – Thinking about some early education or know a little someone who wants to be a Wildcat? Wasuma Elementary is holding its Kindergarten Round-up Thursday, Apr. 30 at 8:30 a.m. for all kindergarten students interested in attending Wasuma during the 2015-16 school year.

MADERA COUNTY – Following a retabulation of scores, it was firmly established that Coarsegold Elementary School’s 8th grade team took top honors in their division for the 2015 Madera County Academic Pentathlon, despite earlier reports. Awards were originally given out on Saturday, Mar. 21, when Ranchos Middle School’s 8th grade team were named winners of the competition.

AHWAHNEE – Students at Wasuma School were treated to a very special day last Friday. Not only did they get to explore fire engines, a bulldozer and a helicopter, and visit with Smokey Bear, they got to learn about some very interesting careers they many someday choose.

OAKHURST – The play was fast-paced and the rivalry fierce during the 2nd annual Guns & Hoses Slow Pitch Softball Tournament last Saturday. But when all was said and done, the Guns defended their title and took home the trophy.
