NORTH FORK — The much-anticipated chili cookoff at the North Fork Town Hall brought folks from all over the area to sample a wide variety of spicy delights.
The North Fork Women’s Club sponsors this event every year, and it is a favorite of the fall season. In addition to the 7 different styles of chili, there is also a contest for best pie and cake.Three judges in each category participated in a blind taste test, and the winners are:
Best Chili – #7 North Fork Women’s Club $100.
Peoples Choice – #5 Delores Haddon $50.
Best Decorated Booth – #4 Crazy Horse – Chris Stanley $50.
Best Cake – Banana Pineapple Cake – Pat Miller $25.
Best Pie – Cherry Cheesecake – Chris Stanley $25.
The Women’s Club offers their thanks to everyone who participated and attended, with a special thanks to Ponderosa Telephone Company for donating all the prize money.
