MADERA COUNTY – Firefighters have responded to several calls in the past week, with the first on Road 400 at Lilley Mountain Road. On Thursday afternoon, July 11, crews responded to a fire on Road 400 that began burning up Lilley Mountain. Fishing For Cash At Yosemite Bank

OAKHURST – Two bags with a string attached were discovered inside a bank’s deposit drop box in Oakhurst Monday morning. According to Yosemite Bank, sometime between July 5 and July 8, someone tried to steal money bags from the bank’s night deposit drop box using a string, says the Madera County Sheriff’s Office.

Single Vehicle Accident Blocks Highway 41

MADERA COUNTY – A pickup truck overturned on Highway 41 early Sunday morning blocking both lanes and tying up traffic for about two hours. Cal Fire, Madera EMS and CHP responded to the accident. The driver sustained only minor injuries and no other vehicles were involved.
