Fishing For Cash At Yosemite Bank

OAKHURST – Two bags with a string attached were discovered inside a bank’s deposit drop box in Oakhurst Monday morning.

According to Yosemite Bank, sometime between July 5 and July 8, someone tried to steal money bags from the bank’s night deposit drop box using a string, says the Madera County Sheriff’s Office.A patch with a string attached was found affixed to the bags. It appears the string broke during the fishing expedition. However it is not known at this time if the suspect was able to reel in any cash.

To be sure, anyone who made a deposit at this branch sometime between July 5 and July 8th should check their accounts to verify that deposits have posted.
