Love Triangle Fight Lands Man Behind Bars

MADERA COUNTY – An Oxnard man found himself in jail after challenging a Coarsegold resident to a fight, then showing up for the confrontation with a knife and stabbing the other combatant, according to the Sheriff’s Office. Lance Sinklier, Jr, 19, is charged with attempted murder for reportedly stabbing an unidentified Coarsegold man during a fight over a girl.

Haigh Fire 100% Contained

MARIPOSA COUNTY – The Haigh Fire, which started on Tuesday, June 10, off Highway 49 north of Coulterville, has now been declared 100% contained. The fire was stopped at 130 acres, and crews continue to do patrol and mop up. No structures were damaged or destroyed during the incident, and only one minor injury was reported.
