MADERA COUNTY – An Oxnard man found himself in jail after challenging a Coarsegold resident to a fight, then showing up for the confrontation with a knife and stabbing the other combatant, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Lance Sinklier, Jr, 19, is charged with attempted murder for reportedly stabbing an unidentified Coarsegold man during a fight over a girl.

According to reports, Sinklier texted the 23-year-old victim, whose name is not being released, and challenged him to a fight on Saturday, June 14. They were to meet, man to man, at a designated location on Kennedy Road in Coarsegold.

The victim suffered multiple stab wounds during the brawl, and was transported to an area hospital. He is expected to recover from his injuries.
