Services For Louis “John” Clayton Runnels

Beloved patriarch John Runnels was born on February 2, 1932 in Shawnee, Ok, and passed away after a short illness with care by St. Agnes Hospice on May 10, 2019 in Fowler, CA.

Raised in Fresno, John attended Roosevelt High School. He moved to Escondido and married Beverly. John served in the Navy during the Korean War, from 1950 to 1954.  Later, he was a truck driver for Baxter Healthcare for 26 years.

John was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1959 and was a Ministerial Servant of the Jehovah’s Witnesses. The Runnels moved to Coarsegold in 1994, where John enjoyed gold panning and metal detecting.

Preceded in death by parents William and Willie Runnels, brother William Darrell Runnels, son Jackie Runnels, daughter Jan Libis and step-son Bobby Thompson, John is survived by his wife Beverly, daughters Jody Wilson and Joan Montoya, son John Runnels, sister Margaret Clayton, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Services will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2019, 10:30 a.m. at the Kingdom Hall, 32138 Road 400, Coarsegold, CA.
