Coarsegold Woman Who Died In Vehicle Accident Identified

COARSEGOLD — The woman who lost her life after a near head-on collision on Highway 41 in Coarsegold yesterday has been identified.

Billie Williams, 90, died yesterday after being airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center from an accident on the north end of Coarsegold near Morava Road. Billie was a passenger in one of the two vehicles involved in the crash.

The accident was reported at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 7.

Billie’s daughter, Linda Sue Murphy, 70, was driving the Lexus when the crash happened and was transported to a valley hospital with what CHP described as major injuries. Her condition is not known at this time.

The driver of the second vehicle declined medical aid.
