Sixth Suspect In Casino Takeover Turns Himself In

MADERA COUNTY – A sixth suspect wanted in connection with the Oct. 9 Chukchansi Casino takeover attempt has turned himself in to authorities, according to the Madera County Sheriff’s Department. Ronald Jones, 53, of Pleasanton, voluntarily turned himself in to the Madera County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 19, and was booked into Madera County Department of Corrections.

Crash On Highway 41 Ends In DUI Arrest

OAKHURST – A single vehicle rollover on Highway 41 near Oakhurst blocked traffic for about 40 minutes this evening just north of Cedar Valley. Just before 6:30 p.m., a 48-year-old Santa Cruz man was southbound on Highway 41 while apparently under the influence, and traveling at unsafe speeds, according to CHP.
