Sixth Suspect In Casino Takeover Turns Himself In

MADERA COUNTY – A sixth suspect wanted in connection with the Oct. 9 Chukchansi Casino takeover attempt has turned himself in to authorities, according to the Madera County Sheriff’s Department.

Ronald Jones, 53, of Pleasanton, voluntarily turned himself in to the Madera County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 19, and was booked into Madera County Department of Corrections.

Jones was wanted for kidnapping, false imprisonment, assault with a firearm, assault with a deadly weapon, battery causing serious injury, and assault with a stun gun. Jail records indicate that Jones posted bail and was released.

On Friday, Oct. 31, warrants were issued for the arrest of 15 individuals in connection with the armed takeover at the casino, after the Madera County District Attorney’s Office filed charges. Currently, nine suspects remain outstanding.
