MARIPOSA — The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) will be conducting a live fire training at Eastman Lake in cooperation with the Madera County Fire Department, and the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers on June 14 and 15.
Burning will take place from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. each day.
Firefighters will be training on tactics and strategies of fire suppression, handline construction, and perimeter control of wildland firefighting. This training will utilize multiple resources consisting of fire engines, crews, bulldozers, and water tenders.
