Bald Eagles At Manzanita Lake?

Submitted by Don Grove

NORTH FORK – The other day we took our dog Cosmo for a walk by Manzanita Lake. Amazing what might happen on a dog walk in North Fork.

Of course, I took my camera with me.

I have never seen eagles at Manzanita Lake until this time, and have never heard of anyone who has.

Don Grove Bald Eagle in flight Manz Lake 47 1-15-15 4x6The light was poor, just after sundown, the distance was long, and I didn’t have time to go get the 300mm lens. Since we were simply going for a short walk, I didn’t take a tripod or monopod with me.

I did get a few pictures that will win no prizes, but at least you can tell it is an eagle. I will be posting these and a few others on my Flickr page within a week, and some of the after-sundown colorful clouds I photographed that same evening.

In the meantime, do you know of anyone who has seen eagles at Manzanita Lake?
