AHWAHNEE – Firefighters made quick work of a vegetation fire reported just west of Nippanawassee on Tuesday afternoon at 3:45 p.m. The first engine on scene of the incident on Back Road, between Metcalf Gap and Crooks Mountain Road, reported the fire at approximately one-half acre, burning in dry grass.
