Yosemite High School Basketball All-Stars

OAKHURST — Four Yosemite High School Basketball players will take part in the 49th Central Valley l Area All-Star Basketball games on Saturday, May 11 at Bullard High School, says Yosemite girls basketball coach Gary Blate.

Yosemite player Paul Antonis will participate on the East team in the 4:30 p.m. game, says the coach, adding that “Antonis was a first team All-League selection and plans to continue playing basketball in college.”

In the 6 p.m. girls game, the South team will be led by Coach Blate and will feature three Badgers: Grace Fries, Lilly Graffigna and Sophie McGoldrick.

“All three players shared the League MVP award this season,” notes Blate. “Fries is a member of the 1000 Point Club and scored 1491 points in her high school career. Point Guard Graffigna had over 200 assists this season to rank with the Section leaders and she plans to play basketball next year at Fresno City College.  McGoldrick was the team’s second leading scorer and leading rebounder.” Operating on an entirely different surface, McGoldrick was also the MVP of the league in water polo.

Both games will take place on Saturday, May 11 at Bullard High School. Go, Badgers!
