Workshop On Emergency Animal Sheltering

MOUNTAIN AREA – The Central California Animal Disaster Team (CCADT) is preparing for the upcoming wildland fire season and are recruiting volunteers in Eastern Madera and Mariposa Counties to assist with displaced pets in their emergency animal shelters.

On Saturday, Apr. 18, the CCADT is presenting a free workshop – “The Basics Of Emergency Animal Sheltering,” at Mariposa County Elementary School, 5044 Jones St. in Mariposa.

Check-in will start at 8:30 a.m., and the workshop will start at 9 a.m.

This workshop covers the basic logistics of setting up and operating an emergency animal shelter during a crisis situation. In the afternoon from, 1 – 4 p.m., the CCADT will hold a joint sheltering exercise with Red Cross Central CA.
