MARIPOSA COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will conduct the following one-way traffic control next week on State Route-49 (SR-49) and SR-140 for maintenance and construction operations. Work is scheduled as follows:
STATE ROUTE 49
• One-way traffic control at Joe Howard Road for utility work beginning Saturday, April 27. Work will continue through Sunday, April 28, 2024, from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
STATE ROUTE 140
• One-way traffic control from Mariposa Creek to State Route 49 South for guardrail work beginning Sunday, April 28. Work will continue through Monday, April 29, from 8:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Work will also continue Tuesday, April 30, through Friday, May 3, 2024, from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
• One-way traffic control from Whitlock Road to El Portal Road for pavement work beginning Monday, April 29. Work will continue through Friday, May 3, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• One-way traffic control from Bull Creek Road to South Fork Merced River for pavement work beginning Sunday, April 28. Work will continue through Friday, May 3, 2024, from 9:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
• One-way traffic control from Midpines to Bull Creek Road for pavement work beginning Sunday, April 28. Work will continue through Friday, May 3, 2024, from 9:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
Motorists should expect 5–10-minute delays and use alternate routes whenever possible.
This work is scheduled to take place as listed, but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment/materials and construction related issues.
