Woman Arrested After Yesterday’s CHP Pursuit Identified

MADERA COUNTY — The woman who led law enforcement on a pursuit yesterday along Highways 41 and 145 has been identified by CHP as Michele Lomonaco, 26, of Patterson, Calif.

Lomonaco was reported by several motorists just after 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 30, driving erratically, passing in an unsafe manner and swerving all over the road.

When law enforcement located her 2014 black Chevy Eqinox headed westbound on Highway 41, they attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but she refused to yield.

CHP threw out spike strips as she approached Road 33, flattening her right-side tires, and she was finally forced to stop about two miles later.

Highway 145 was closed in both directions as Lomonaco was arrested without further incident and booked on charges of evading police and DUI.

This is not Lomonaco’s first DUI arrest. Just three weeks ago, she was arrested in Madera County on charges of DUI and carrying a loaded firearm, and was ordered to appear in Madera Superior Court on June 5.

According to jail records, she was being held on a $25,000 bond, but has since been released.
