NORTH FORK – A fatal motorcycle accident claimed the life of a North Fork man Sunday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Steven Walling, 70, was traveling southbound on Road 200 just north of Road 222 when he lost control of his 1992 Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
“While negotiating a curve in the road, [the victim] lost control, was ejected and collided with the roadway,” the CHP report stated.
No other vehicles were involved and there were no witnesses to the crash. Motorists who came upon the accident scene reported the incident to authorities.
The accident happened about 2:20 p.m., according to CHP, which responded along with MCSO deputies, CAL FIRE personnel and EMTs from Sierra Ambulance.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to CHP, drugs or alcohol are not suspected to be a factor in the accident.
