Trio Caught In Coarsegold With Meth And Stolen Car

COARSEGOLD — A traffic enforcement stop in Coarsegold ends with three suspects in custody, a stolen car recovered and nearly $1,000 of crystal meth seized, according to the Madera County Sheriff’s Office.

Three people were arrested Friday, Feb. 8, in the area of Skyline Ridge Road and Skyline Ridge Court. Melissa Mae Johnson, 32 of Ahwahnee, Summer Marie Addington, 23, of Coarsegold, and Todd Andrew Kjeldergaard, 41, of Oakhurst.According to reports, Deputy Richard Gonzales pulled over a red 2000 Geo Metro at around 3:24 p.m.

Summer Marie AddingtonThe driver, identified as Melissa Johnson, claimed they were lost. The deputy found that hard to believe since her front passenger, identified as Summer Addington, who is on probation, lives in Coarsegold.

When asked who the car belonged to, Johnson reportedly told the deputy it belonged to a friend.

According to records, the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Oakhurst on Jan. 29.

Deputies seized two glass smoking pipes, four packages of crystal meth, weighing nearly 20 grams and worth almost $1000, and more than $400 in cash.

Melissa Johnson remains jailed facing felony drug charges and car theft. Her bail set at $25,000.

Summer Addington is being held without bail for probation violation.

Todd Andrew Kjeldergaard, who also faces felony drug charges, posted bail, which was set at $10,000.
