CAL FIRE Madera- Mariposa -Merced Unit will be conducting a vegetation management training burn on Monday, May 24.
The training burn will take place on the Grupe Ranch located on Oak Grove Road in Mariposa County. The training will consist of burning 78 acres of annual grass, oak woodland and sparse brush.
The purpose of the burn is to train firefighting personnel in firing strategies and tactics.
The management fire will improve rangelands by promoting annual grasses, reduce fuel loading and ladder fuels.
