The History Mystery #37

This month’s History Mystery comes from Milt Wheeler (not related to Tom). Milt attended North Fork School as a boy, but he now resides in Hawaii. Milt and his brother played on the basketball team in 1955. He has a photo of the team, but cannot remember the names of all the players.

Can someone help him out and tell us the names of the team members? Maybe you can tell us where they are now. Do you know how to get in touch with any of them?

You can respond in the comments page on this site, on the Sierra News Online Facebook page, or directly to the North Fork History Group at NorthForkHistoryGroup@gmail.com.

The North Fork History Group is currently working on several projects designed to fulfill our mission to “gather, preserve and share the history of North Fork and the surrounding communities. ” We welcome everyone interested in the local history. We meet at the North Fork Library at 7 p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month. For more information, call Ginny Smith at 559-877-4807.

Follow-up on History Mystery #36

The only comment we received asked that we post the names of the couple when we find out who they were. Our format is to post the results of our Mysteries the following month. However, when we receive information too late for that post, we are happy to post it later. So if anyone has information about any prior History Mystery, please send it to the North Fork History Group at NorthForkHistoryGroup@gmail.com.
