Update On The Fox Fire 9PM Monday

MARIPOSA COUNTY – The Fox Fire, which started Sunday just after noon along Lookout Mountain Road and Foxfield Lane south of Mariposa, is now 90 percent contained at 25 acres. Crews worked through sweltering temperatures today to secure the fireline, mop up hot spots and deal with areas of unburned grass and brush within the fire’s perimeter.

MARIPOSA COUNTY – The Fox Fire, burning just south of Mormon Bar off Highway 49, is now estimated at 24 acres and is 35 percent contained, according to Incident Commander Steve Ward. About 140 personnel are currently assigned to the incident which was reported at 12:10 p.m., on Sunday, June 7, burning near Lookout Mountain Road and Foxfield Lane.
