Solo-Vehicle Accident On Highway 41 Near Road 406

MADERA COUNTY — Traffic was backed up and a woman was transported to the hospital on Wednesday, July 10, following an accident on Highway 41 south of Road 406 in the O’Neals area.

Just before 2 p.m. a Fresno resident, reportedly in her mid-seventies, was traveling south on Highway 41 in a late-model Dodge Journey.

The driver experienced the effects of a medical condition, according to CHP, causing her to lose control of the vehicle and collide with the rock embankment, coming to rest on the east side of the road.

Northbound traffic on Highway 41 was diverted at Road 208 by CHP and Caltrans and traffic control was put in place on Highway 41 in the vicinity of the accident.

While the driver apparently suffered no injuries in the accident, she was transported to the hospital by ambulance for her medical condition.

The roadway was cleared by approximately 3 p.m.
