OAKHURST – A single vehicle roll-over on wet roads near Oakhurst this afternoon sent one man to the hospital and slowed traffic as first responders rendered aid to the elderly driver.
Paul Lutz, 87, of Oakhurst, was westbound on Road 426 at about 5 p.m., just past Sierra Lakes, when he lost control of his pickup and went off the right shoulder of the road.
The 1999 Ford Ranger overturned, coming to rest on its wheels about 50 feet off the road.
An air ambulance was dispatched, but the driver’s injuries were judged to be minor to moderate, and he was transported by Sierra Ambulance to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno.
Firefighters from Station 12 responded to the accident, which is under investigation. No other vehicles were involved.
