COARSEGOLD – Get ready to be transported back to the dusty days of horses, six-shooters and stages as the Coarsegold Historical Society (CHS) prepares for the wildly popular Stage Route Tour on Apr. 26.
CHS offers a 6-hour bus tour that follows the old stage route visiting Coarsegold, the Hills Pride Inn in Knowles, the Raymond Museum, historic Road 600 and the old mining community of Grub Gulch, the Wassama Roundhouse and the old town of Fresno Flats.
This is history you can see, feel, and even taste, because we’ve got you covered with plenty of grub – even an afternoon tea with dessert. The old folks never had it so good! You get to see the sights from a comfortable air-conditioned bus with a running commentary and pictures.
The tour price of $40 ($35 CHS members) includes lunch and dessert. There is a $10 non-refundable deposit. Reservations are required, so send your deposit (or full amount) with name, phone number, home and email addresses to CHS, PO BOX 117, Coarsegold, CA 93614.
The 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. tour leaves from the Coarsegold Historic Museum, 31899 Highway 41, just south of Lucky Lane.
