OAKHURST — The fine folks of Sierra-Oakhurst Kiwanis invite the community to an open house to learn about the current Kiwanis membership drive. Here’s an opportunity to join a vibrant organization whose mission is clear: Kiwanis serve the children of our community — and sometimes, beyond.
Stop by the Yosemite Gateway Restaurant on Tuesday, Jun. 7 from 6 to 7:30 p.m., where complimentary hors d’oeuvres and beverages will be provided.
One of the goals of Kiwanis is to “enhance the community,” say organizers, “and the best way to do that” is to enhance the experiences of the children in the community. “When you give a child a chance to learn, experience, dream, and succesd, great things will happen.”
Theneeds of children are the number one priority of Kiwanis, they say. Some of the Kiwanis fundraisers and events include Miracle Mile of Quarters with Valley Children’s Hospital, Run for the Gold car show, Bingo fundraisers, pancake breakfastst, all-you-can-eat Ribfest dinner, community cleanup, Wood Carver’s Rendezvous and more.
For more information, visit the website or stop by the event on on Tuesday, Jun. 7.
