Sheriff’s Log Through Sunday, May 15

MADERA COUNTY – Following are details from the Madera County Sheriff’s Office of reports taken locally from Sunday, May 8 to Sunday, May 15, 2016:

Oakhurst assault
On Sunday, May 8 at 2:06 a.m. a deputy responded to the 40800 block of Highway 41 for an assault. An investigation was conducted and all parties requested that no charges be filled. Report written and case closed.

Oakhurst assault
On Sunday, May 8 at 7:48 p.m. a deputy responded to a telephonic dispatch call regarding an assault that had occurred in the area of Road 462. The reporting party was a mandated reporter at a hospital in Fresno and stated the victim did not want to report the assault however he was seeking treatment for his injuries. Deputy spoke to victim who did not wish to report the incident or press charges. Case closed per the victims request.

Oakhurst warrant
On Sunday, May 8 at 10 p.m. while doing a park check, at the Oakhurst park, Deputies placed a subject under arrest for having two confirmed misdemeanor warrants. The subject was given a citation for the warrants and released at scene.

Coarsegold burglary
On Monday, May 9 at 6:43 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 31000 block of Quartz Mountain Road in regards to two vehicle burglaries. No forced entry into the vehicles was observed, however, numerous items were taken from both vehicles. A report was taken and is to be closed due to a lack of investigative leads/ evidence.

Oakhurst danger to self
On Monday, May 9 at 8:20 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 42000 block of Buckeye Road regarding a male subject who said he took pills, had a gun, and wanted to kill himself. Report taken, weapon confiscated and subject placed on a mental health evaluation hold. Case closed.

Oakhurst theft
On Monday, May 9 at 9:01 a.m. a School Resource Deputy advised of a theft from a classroom at the 50000 block of Road 427. Report taken by Deputy. No suspect was identified and the case will be closed.

Oakhurst theft
On Monday, May 9 at 9:23 a.m. a School Resource Deputy informed by teacher of a theft from a high school classroom located at the 50000 block of Road 427. Deputy took the information from the student but was unable to identify the suspect.

Coarsegold dispute
On Monday, May 9 at 9:55 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the Oakhurst substation in regards to a report of threats. A report was taken for documentation only. It was discovered that the statement made does not constitute a criminal threat and the situation involving the parties is a landlord-tenant dispute. Case to be closed.

Coarsegold family disturbance
On Monday, May 9 at 11:35 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 41000 block of Lilley Mountain Drive in regards to a family disturbance. Upon arrival, one of the involved subjects was transported to a local hospital for a mental health evaluation. Case to be closed.

Oakhurst domestic violence
On Monday, May 9 at 2:44 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 40000 block of HWY 41 regarding a domestic assault. Report taken, no evidence obtained, no arrest made, emergency protective order issued, and case forwarded the Madera County District Attorney’s Office for charges to be filed.

Oakhurst coroner’s report
On Monday, May 9 at 6:13 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 48000 block of Lindsay Lane regarding a coroner’s report. Report written, case forwarded to Deputy Coroner. Next of kin notified by Fresno County Coroner’s Office.

North Fork bikes stolen
On Monday, May 9 at 9:30 p.m. a deputy responded to a dispatch call in the 54000 block of Pine Tree lane for two stolen bicycles. Report written and case closed due to lack of investigative leads and physical evidence left at the scene.

Oakhurst theft
On Tuesday, May 10 at 11:11 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the Oakhurst substation regarding a theft that had occurred in the 40500 block of Highway 41 in Oakhurst. Report taken. Case to be suspended.

Coarsegold domestic disturbance
On Tuesday, May 10 at 11:58 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 46000 block of Comstock road regarding a domestic disturbance. During the call two subjects were found to have warrants. Report taken, no evidence obtained, arrests made, and case closed.

Oakhurst burglary
On Tuesday, May 10 at 12:32 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 51000 block of Road 426 regarding a vehicle burglary. Report taken. Case to be closed.

Coarsegold harassment
On Tuesday, May 10 at 9:07 p.m. a deputy was telephonically dispatched to a call in the 31000 block of Bear Paw Way for harassing text messages. Case closed pending documents supporting the victims statements.

Oakhurst warrants arrest
On Wednesday, May 11 at 12:31 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the front lobby of the Oakhurst substation regarding a female who wanted to turn herself in for her warrants. Female was arrested and booked at Madera County DOC for her warrants. Case closed due to arrest.

Oakhurst burglary
On Wednesday, May 11 at 5:44 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to Road 425B and Honeysuckle regarding a subject riding a lawn mower off a gravel road. The lawn mower was later found to be stolen from Oakhurst Little League and turned over to the owner. The suspect fled on foot and was not located. Report suspended until further leads develope.

North Fork arrest
On Wednesday, May 11 at 1:14 p.m. a deputy conducted a routine traffic enforcement stop on a vehicle in the North Fork area which resulted in the driver being arrested and cited out for a warrant and new charges. Forward the case to the Madera County District Attorneys Office for charges.

Ahwahnee identity theft
On Wednesday, May 11 at 4:31 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to lobby traffic in regards to identify theft. The victim resides in the Ahwahnee area. Suspend the case.

Coarsegold danger to self
On Thursday, May 12 at 12:03 a.m. deputies were dispatched to the 30000 block of Corral Drive for a female who was possibly a danger to herself. Upon arrival, deputies contacted the female and found she was suffering from a mental illness. She was transported the hospital for a mental health hold.

North Fork theft
On Thursday, May 12 at 8:14 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the block of 56000 Road 200 regarding theft of two yard lights from the church. No suspect(s) at this time. Report for documentation. Refer report suspended until further leads develop.

Oakhurst found purse
On Thursday, May 12 at 12:08 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the social services building in Oakhurst regarding a known female who left her purse in the lobby. The social services supervisor requested to turn the items over to the Sheriff’s Department.

Oakhurst mental health evaluation hold
On Thursday, May 12 at 12:10 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the Kaiser Medical Center in Oakhurst regarding an elderly female requesting to report alleged abuse. The elderly female was determined to be meet the criteria for a mental health evaluation hold. The subject was transported to a hospital by ambulance for a mental health evaluation. Report to be forwarded to Adult Protective Services for continued follow up.

Coarsegold theft
On Thursday, May 12 at 2:37 p.m. deputies dispatched to the 43800 block of Road 415 in the Coarsegold area in regards to an assault. No assault in fact took place, rather it was an alleged theft. The victim did not want to file charges. Report taken for documentation. Close the case.

Oakhurst narcotics
On Thursday, May 12 at 4:49 p.m. a deputy flagged down by a passerby regarding a male subject attempting to break into a vehicle in the parking lot of the Oakhurst Library. Deputy contacted the subject in question and determined he had an outstanding arrest warrant and was in possession of narcotic paraphernalia. Subject arrested and case forwarded to the DA for charges.

Coarsegold stalking
On Thursday, May 12 at 8:33 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a residence located in the 43000 block of Ranger Circle Drive for a report of trail of blood leading to the front door of the residence that turned out to be a stalking incident. The suspect was arrested, transported and booked into the Madera County Department of Corrections. Case Forward to the Madera County District Attorney to persue the charges against the suspect.

Ahwahnee vandalism
On Friday, May 13 at 1:25 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 42000 block of CA-49 for a family disturbance. Upon arrival, Deputies made contact with the reporting party who
said her son had vandalized her car. A report was taken and sent to the DA’s Office for review and charges filed.

Oakhurst burglary
On Friday, May 13 at midnight, a deputy was dispatched to the 40600 block of Hwy 41 in regards to a theft of cash from a business. A report was taken and detectives were called out. Forward case to detectives.

Coarsegold danger to self
On Friday, May 13 at 9:05 a.m. a deputy dispatched to the 29000 block of Deer Trail Lane regarding an adult female possible a danger to herself and others. The female was placed on a mental health evaluation hold and transported to a hospital by ambulance. Close case.

Oakhurst domestic disturbance
On Sunday, May 15 at 12:40 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to a domestic incident in the 40000 block of Highway 41. Victim refused to give any information to deputy regarding the incident. In addition, it was later determined she gave false information during the investigation. Case sent to the DA’s office for review.

Bass Lake vandalism
On Sunday, May 15 at 6:26 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 50000 block of Smoke Tree Trail in regards to a vehicle vandalism report. Upon arrival, the victim was contacted and physical evidence was located at the scene. It was discovered that the tires had small punctures marks on them. A suspect is named but has not been contacted. Case to remain open pending additional follow up.

North Fork public intoxication
On Sunday, May 15 at 3:16 p.m. deputies responded to the area of Road 222 and Road 200 for a possible person stumbling in and out of traffic. Subject was contacted and placed under arrest and he was transported and booked into the Madera County Jail.

Coarsegold missing persons
On Sunday, May 15 at 8:15 p.m. a deputy responded to the 45000 block of Old Corral Road regarding a missing person report. The party reported her 22 year old daughter and 4 year old grandson as missing. Case pending further leads.

Oakhurst assault
On Sunday, May 15 at 9:53 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to telephone a female regarding a report of an assault that occurred the previous night at Jack in the Box restaurant in Oakhurst. The female advised her seventeen year old daughter was attacked by her ex-husband’s new girlfriend during a visitation. The daughter was not injured. The mother only wanted this incident documented and did not wish to seek prosecution against the girlfriend at this time. This case has been closed.
