Sheriff’s Crime Log Week of August 17

MADERA COUNTY – Following are details from the Madera County Sheriff’s Office of reports taken locally during the week of Monday, Aug. 17 through Sunday, Aug 23, 2015.

Oakhurst theft report
On Aug. 17 at 11:46 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to 42000 block of Highway 49 in Oakhurst in regards to a theft report. Information was gathered and items taken were entered into NCIC [National Crime Information Center]. The case was forwarded to detectives for review.

Coarsegold mailboxes theft
A deputy was dispatched to telephone a female regarding a report of a theft from a U. S. Postal Parcel cluster mailbox located at the intersection of Highway 41 and Black Oak Road. This case has been suspended, pending investigative leads.

Coarsegold subject released when jail refuses to book
A deputy was dispatched to a radio call in the 35000 block of Highway 41 on Aug. 17 at 4:57 p.m., regarding a male subject who was trespassing in a
business. The subject was located and determined to have a no bail out-of-county warrant. An arrest was made, however Madera Department of Corrections refused to book on the warrant. The subject was released without further incident.

Coarsegold gun theft
On Monday, Aug. 17, at 6:06 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to the Oakhurst Substation regarding a phone call from someone in the 28000 block of Yosemite Springs Parkway. An investigation concluded that one firearm had been stolen with no suspect information. The case was forwarded to the Madera County Sheriff’s Department Detective Unit for follow up.

North Fork theft from recycling yard
On Monday, Aug. 17 at 6:44 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to the Oakhurst Substation regarding a phone call from someone in the 57000 block of Road 225. The subsequent investigation concluded that a theft had occurred from the recycling yard with no suspect information.

Oakhurst homeless arrested
A deputy was on patrol in the Oakhurst area checking the known homeless encampment on Tuesday, Aug. 18 at 7:15 a.m. The deputy located a number of subjects camping/squatting on the Wright property, located parcel # 064-142-013. Two of the subjects were arrested and transported to Madera County Jail on warrants. The two subjects were also cited for camping/squatting on the property.

Oakhurst vehicle theft
On Tuesday, Aug. 18 at 7:32 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to the 52000 block of Suncrest Drive in Oakhurst in regards to a burglary report. No suspect or evidence was located. CHP took a vehicle theft report, and the case was closed.

Bass Lake phone theft
On  Tuesday, Aug. 18 at 7:46 a.m., a deputy responded to the 40000 block of Highway 41 in regards to a theft report that occurred in Beasore Meadows. A phone was reported stolen and tracked to Fresno. Fresno PD assisted in locating the phone and had negative results. The case was closed.

Oakhurst burglary
A deputy was dispatched to the 51000 block of Coyote Ridge Road in Oakhurst on Tuesday, Aug. 18, at 9:50 a.m., in regards to a burglary report. No evidence at this time. The case was forwarded to detectives for review due to the close proximity of another case.

Coarsegold mail theft
On Tuesday, Aug. 18 at 10:35 .m., a deputy was dispatched to a residence located within the 31300 block of Road 400 in Coarsegold, regarding a report of a theft of mail from a country style mailbox in front of his residence. This case has been suspended, pending investigative leads.

Oakhurst bicycle taken into evidence
On Tuesday, Aug. 18, at 6:56 a.m., a deputy was conducting homeless encampment checks along the Fresno River in Oakhurst, and located a bicycle laying out in the weeds. The bicycle was collected and was taken to the Oakhurst Substation and booked into evidence as found property.

Coarsegold unlicensed driver
A deputy noticed a vehicle traveling east on Lucky Lane from Highway 41 toward the casino on Tuesday, Aug. 18, at 5 p.m. The vehicle was observed crossing the double yellow lines twice and swerving within the lane. During a vehicle stop the driver was found to be driving without a license. The driver was issued a citation for related California Vehicle Code charges. This case has been closed.

Bass Lake lawnmower theft
On Tuesday, Aug. 18 at 6:15 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to the 39000 Block of Road 274 regarding the theft of a riding lawn mower. An investigation concluded no suspect information or physical evidence.

Coarsegold business burglary
On Tuesday, Aug. 18, at 7:52 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to a business located within the 30900 block of Corral Drive in Coarsegold, regarding a report of a burglar alarm activation. During the course of the investigation it was determined a burglary had occurred. This case has been suspended, pending investigative leads.

Coarsegold school burglary
A deputy was dispatched to a high school located within the 43800 block of Patrick Avenue in Coarsegold on Tuesday, Aug. 18 at 8:09 p.m., regarding a report of a burglar alarm activation. During this investigation physical evidence was located. This case has been suspended pending investigative leads.
Coarsegold home burglary reported
On Tuesday, Aug. 18, at 10:33 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to a residence located within the 29300 block of CA-41, in Coarsegold, regarding a report of a burglary. This was the second report of a burglary at this residence within the last two weeks. This case has been suspended, pending investigative leads.

Oakhurst juvenile mental health problems
On Wednesday, Aug. 19, at 2:12 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to the 50000 block of Road 427 in Oakhurst, CA in regards to a juvenile who was possibly suffering from mental health issues. Per the investigation, the juvenile was transported by ambulance to a hospital for a mental health evaluation. Case can be closed.

Coarsegold theft report
Deputies responded to the area of the 46000 block of Road 415 for a theft report on Wednesday, Aug. 19, at 3:10 p.m. Suspects were identified in this
case. The report is being further investigated.

Coarsegold found wallet
On Wednesday, Aug. 19, at 3:10 p.m., deputies responded to the area of the 46200 block of Road 415 for a found wallet. The wallet was collected and placed into Madera County Sheriff’s Office evidence for safe keeping. A report was generated for this incident.
Oakhurst warrant and marijuana arrest
On Wednesday, Aug 19, at 3:40 p.m., a deputy was conducting a patrol check in the Oakhurst area, between Highway 49 and Civic Cirle Drive on Highway 41, when the deputy noticed a known homeless subject loitering in the back area of the Oakhurst Car Wash. The deputy confirmed the subject had a warrant for his arrest.  The subject was arrested and transported to Madera County Jail. Subject was also found in possession of less than one ounce of marijuana.

Coarsegold man with pants down arrested
A deputy dispatched to the 32000 block of Delaware Road in Coarsegold on Wednesday, Aug. 19 at 8:19 p.m., regarding a male subject in his backyard with his pants down and yelling. Upon arrival, the deputy noticed that the male subject was extremely intoxicated and falling on to the ground. A report was written, but no evidence obtained. An arrest was made, charges filed and forwarded to the Madera County District Attorney’s Office.

Oakhurst report of hacked computer
On Wednesday, Aug. 19 at 10:28 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to the 49000 block of River Park Road in regards to an adult female reporting her ex-boyfriend had hacked into her computer. A case report was written.

North Fork welfare check
On Wednesday, Aug. 19, at 10:56 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the area of Wilcox and Bonnie Bee Rd for a welfare check. Deputies arrived on scene and found that the subject had left the area prior to their arrival. A report was generated and the area was canvassed but the subject was not located. The case was closed.

North Fork child welfare check
On Thursday, Aug. 20, at 1:22 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to the 49000 block of Vista Heights Lane to check the welfare of a child. No arrests were made, a case report was written and forwarded to Child Protective Services.

Oakhurst subjects squatting on private property
A deputy was on foot patrol checking the property on the south side of Highway 41 between Royals Oaks and Victoria lane in Oakhurst on Thursday, Aug. 20 at 6:06 a.m., when he located two subjects camping/squatting on the Johnson property.

Ahwahnee domestic dispute
A deputy was dispatched to a confidential location on Blue Willow Place on Thursday, Aug. 20 at 8:42 a.m., regarding a domestic incident. An emergency protective order is issued to the victim. A report will be submitted to the Madera County District Attorney’s Office for filing of charges.

Oakhurst bad check
On Thursday, Aug. 20 at 12:41 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to 40000 Highway 41 regarding a forged check that was passed at the business. The reporting party advised that he knew who cashed the check and provided evidence. The case was refer to the D.A’s office for charges filed.

Wishon marijuana grow
On Monday, Aug. 17 at 1:25 p.m., a concerned citizen reported a small outdoor marijuana grow at a residence in the 35000 block of Sierra Linda Drive. The owner of the residence was contacted and it was determined that the marijuana grow is in violation of a Madera County Ordinance. The resident voluntarily eradicated the plants. A report was generated and forwarded to the Madera Narcotics Enforcement Task force and Madera County Code Enforcement.

North Fork woman danger to self
On Thursday, Aug. 20 at 12:10 p.m., deputies responded to the 32000 block of Road 224 for a disturbance. Upon arrival it was determined that subject was a danger to herself. The subject was transported to Madera Community Hospital for evaluation. A report was taken of this incident.

Coarsegold residential burglary
A deputy was dispatched to the 29000 block of Highway 41 in Coarsegold on Thursday, Aug. 20 at 3:55 p.m., in regard to a residential burglary. The crime scene was processed for evidence. A report was forwarded to detectives for follow up.

Coarsegold pregnant teen’s father wants arrest
On Thursday, Aug. 20 at 4:45 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to the 30000 Block of Stetson Drive in order to contact a subject about his 17-year-old daughter who is pregnant. The father requests charges be filed against the 18-year-old suspect. The case was referred to the D.A’s office for review of charges.

Oakhurst runaway juvenile
Deputies were dispatched to the 49400 block of Pierce Drive on Thursday, Aug. 20 at 7:46 p.m., for a runaway juvenile report. A report was generated. The juvenile was located and returned home, and the case closed.

Oakhurst male reportedly injures self
On Thursday, Aug. 20 at 10:49 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to the 40000 block on Jean Road West in Oakhurst regarding a male subject who possibly cut himself on the wrist. A report was written, photographs were taken of the subject’s injuries, and the subject was placed on a hold for mental health issues. A report was written and the case closed.

North Fork arrest for drunk in public
Deputies responded to the 33000 block of Mission Drive on Friday, Aug. 21 at 12:08 a.m., for a report of an intoxicated subject. Deputies arrived on scene and an arrest was made for public intoxication. A report was generated and the subject was transported to the Madera County Department of Corrections. Charges were filed and forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.

Oakhurst illegal campers yelling
On Friday, Aug. 21 at 9:55 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to Highways 41 and 49 regarding subjects yelling in the bushes near the water’s edge. The deputy contacted two subjects who were camping illegally. Both subjects were cited and released, and a report was referred to the D.A’s office for charges filed.

Oakhurst business theft
A deputy was dispatched to a business on the 42000 block of Highway 41 on Friday, Aug. 21 at 1:27 p.m., regarding theft of items from a room. The manager requested charges filed. The case was referred to the D.A’s office for charges filed.

Bass Lake boat anchor stolen
A deputy was dispatched to the 39000 Beaver Road in Bass Lake on Friday, Aug. 21 at 4 p.m. The victim advised that his boat anchor was stolen from a boat in the water. He requested a report for documentation. The report was closed until further leads develop.

Bass Lake residential burglary
On Friday, Aug. 21 at 6:09 p.m., deputies responded to the 40000 block of Road 222 for a report of a residential burglary. A report was generated, no suspects were identified, and no evidence was located at the time. The case was forwarded to detectives.

North Fork intoxicated trespasser
On Friday, Aug. 21 at 8:42 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to the 31000 block of Wyle Ranch Road in North Fork regarding a subject banging on the door and ringing the door bell at a house. A subject was contacted and found to be intoxicated. A report was written, an arrest made, charges were forwarded to the Madera County District Attorney’s Office and the case closed by arrest.

Oakhurst arrest for warrants
A deputy was dispatched to the 41000 block of Highway 49 on Friday, Aug. 21 at 8:48 p.m., regarding a 911 text to land line from CHP. During the investigation a male subject was contacted and found to have out-of-county no bail warrants. The male subject was arrested and booked into the Madera County Department of Corrections for the no bail warrant. A case report was written.

Oakhurst vehicle burglary
On Saturday, Aug. 22 at 9:22 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to the 41000 block of Pamela Place in Oakhurst regarding a vehicle burglary. An investigation was conducted with no results.

Coarsegold vehicle vandalized
On Saturday, Aug. 22 at 10:42, a deputy was dispatched to a report of a vehicle that was vandalized while parked at a residence in the 33000 block of Highway 41 in Coarsegold. There were no possible suspects or leads.

Bass Lake subject violates no contact order
During a follow up investigation into a previous case, it was discovered that the suspect has been attempting to contact the victim by telephone and text message. The victim was interviewed and a criminal case report was generated. Case will be submitted to the Madera County District Attorney’s Office for charges to be filed against the suspect.

Ahwahnee burglary report
On Saturday, Aug. 22 at 3:56 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to the 40000 block of Road 600 regarding a residential burglary. The crime scene was processed for evidence.

Coarsegold burglary
On Saturday, Aug. 22 at 7:27 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to the 32000 block of Person Court in Coarsegold regarding a burglary. A report was written, evidence obtained, no arrests made, and the case was forwarded to the Madera County Sheriff’s Detectives unit for review.

Oakhurst Theft
A deputy was dispatched on Saturday, Aug 22 at 7:21 p.m. to Greenwood regarding theft of items from a storage. The scene was processed for physical evidence. No arrest were made, case report written and sent to the detective division for further investigation.

Coarsegold family disturbance
A deputy was dispatched to the 46000 block on Oonay Nation Road in Coarsegold regarding a family disturbance on Saturday, Aug. 22 at 8:45 p.m. The female was angry at her husband for being drunk and the grandmother had told the husband to leave her house. A report was written, no arrests were made, no
evidence was obtained and the case was closed. The case was written for informational purposes only.

Oakhurst runaway juvenile
On Saturday, Aug. 22, deputies responded to the area of the 49400 block of Pierce Dr. for a runaway juvenile report. A report was generated and forward to detectives for follow up.

Coarsegold Coroner’s Report
On Sunday, Aug. 23 at 2:27 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 44000 block of Wells Road West in Coarsegold for a Coroner’s Report. Report written, no evidence obtained, and case forwarded to the Madera County Sheriff’s Coroner for review.

North Fork family disturbance and arrest for warrant
On Sunday, Aug. 23 at 7:59 a.m. a deputy responded to a radio call in the 30000 block of Road 222 in North Fork regarding a family disturbance between two brothers. An investigation was conducted and it was determined that neither brother wanted to press charges. A felony warrant arrest was
made and case was closed due to arrest.

Coarsegold burglary
On Sunday, Aug. 23 at 6:29 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a residence located within the 40700 block of Rancho Ramon Circle in Coarsegold, regarding a report of
a burglary. This case has been suspended, pending investigative leads.
