Sheriff Anderson To Speak On Law Enforcement Challenges

OAKHURST – The Executive Committee of the Democratic Club of Oakhurst is pleased to announce that Madera County Sheriff John Anderson will be the guest speaker at their monthly meeting on Saturday, Mar. 2, at Sweetwater Steakhouse.

Sheriff Anderson will discuss “Law Enforcement Challenges in Eastern Madera County” and allow plenty of time for questions and answers following his prepared comments.Anderson spent 33 years as a California Highway Patrol officer, much of that time as a commanding officer. He has been Sheriff and Coroner of Madera County since January 4, 1999.

In spite of significant challenges brought about by economically necessitated budgetary restraint over the last five years, including the loss of 17 deputy sheriff positions, crimes in virtually every major category decreased last year in Madera County.

Breakfast preceding the meeting will be served at 8:45 a.m. with presentations getting underway shortly thereafter. The public is cordially invited to attend, regardless of party affiliation.

Sweetwater Steakhouse is located at 41177 Highway 41 in Oakhurst.
