O’NEALS – Madera County Sheriff’s detectives are investigating a theft that occurred at Spring Valley School in O’Neals last Wednesday, Jan. 14.
Chawanakee School District posted on their Facebook page last Thursday, a photo of a dark colored car, asking for information about the driver, stating that she “may have information leading to the theft of three campus Chromebooks and a cellular phone.”

The woman was reportedly visiting the campus where she stole a cell phone while being assisted in the office, and then took several laptops from an empty classroom as she was leaving.
The Sheriff’s Office says they were advised of the theft on Jan. 15, after information related to the incident had been publicly posted by other sources.
