Search Continues For Missing Coarsegold Man

COARSEGOLD – Family members and law enforcement continue the search for a Coarsegold man who has been missing for nearly a month.

According to the Madera County Sheriff’s Office, Keith Allen Bendz, 45, was reported missing on Tuesday, Apr. 25. He was last seen on the morning of Monday, Apr. 24, say family members.

Mr. Bendz is described as 5′ 8″ tall, weighing approximately 185 pounds, with a medium build, hazel eyes, and brown hair with a shaved head. He was last seen wearing an orange shirt, tan cords, and a green fleece jacket.

The Sheriff’s Office says they have no leads on where Bendz may be, but they did spend the weekend of May 6 and 7 searching, concentrating in the area along Beasore and Sky Ranch Roads.

Search and Rescue management and volunteers joined the search, along with 4×4 and OHV teams, and CHP’s H-40 helicopter, but they didn’t turn up any new clues as to Bendz’s whereabouts.

The family asks that the public be on the lookout for his truck, particularly in the high country.

The truck is a 1998 Dodge Dakota, white, with a missing tailgate. Family members say the truck is more beat up than is shown in the photograph.

The family also says there has been no activity on Keith’s bank account since he disappeared.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Madera County Sheriff’s Office at 559-675-7770 or 559-658-2555, or to get in touch with his sister, Dawn Bendz, on Facebook.
