Republican Candidate To Speak At Oakhurst Democratic Club

Submitted by Peter Cavanaugh and the Oakhurst Democratic Club

OAKHURST – The Oakhurst Democratic Club kicks off its “New Fall Season” on Saturday, Sept. 6, at Denny’s on Highway 41, with breakfast at 8:30 a.m. and the meeting at 9:30.

In keeping with this year’s effort to maximize political candidate exposure to membership regardless of party affiliation, the featured speaker in September will be Art Moore, campaigning for Congressional Representative in the Fourth District.

Art Moore is a Republican who believes in individual liberty, limited government, and personal responsibility. A businessman, military officer, and proven leader, Moore is running for Congress because he believes District Four citizens deserve a leader who will represent their concerns in Washington with a focus on responsible fiscal management and a strong national defense. Mainly, he promises to work across the aisle to overcome gridlock, get things done and keep Yosemite open.

Art grew up in Auburn, attended St. Joseph’s Catholic School and graduated from Placer High School as a valedictorian. He earned accolades on the student council and in a variety of leadership positions, where he was first introduced to the value of public service and earned the rank of Eagle Scout. After high school he attended the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science.

Commissioned as an infantry officer, Art has a combined fourteen years of Active Duty and National Guard service, including thirty months deployed overseas. He is currently a Major in the Army National Guard.

Art is also recognized as an accomplished operations professional and process improvement expert – working as a business executive in the building products industry and as a management consultant serving federal government clients in the U.S. Intelligence Community.

He has been endorsed in his run for office by the Fresno Bee, Combat Veterans for Congress, numerous county supervisors throughout the area and former House Representative George Radanovich.

Oakhurst Democrats look forward to meeting Major Moore, considering his thoughts and questioning him about common concerns facing us all.

The general public is enthusiastically invited and encouraged to attend.
