Primary Election Results 2014

MADERA COUNTY – The voters have spoken and the stage is set for the November election.

Incumbent Michael Keitz will face off against David Linn for the job of District Attorney, and in the crowded race for Sheriff, Chowchilla Chief of Police Jay Varney and Undersheriff Michael Salvador will go head-to-head to replace the retiring John Anderson.

In the contest for District 5 Supervisor, incumbent Tom Wheeler captured nearly 65% of the vote, winning the seat outright over challenger Paul Cliby.

Gary Svanda beat out Scott Runtzel for the County Assessor job, and incumbent Marcia Hall was defeated by challenger Todd Miller. The winners in both races garnered over 56% of the vote.

Candidates for County positions who earn more than 50% of the vote in the primary election are declared the winner and do not have to run in the November election.
