Oakhurst Man Booked On Suspicion Of Rape

OAKHURST – An Oakhurst man has been arrested and was booked into the Madera County Jail last night on suspicion of rape.

Timothy Edward Buchholz, 28, who shares his time between Oakhurst and Fresno, has a lengthy criminal history dating back to 2009 that includes burglary, grand theft and narcotics. He is being held without bail.

Deputies were notified of the alleged assault shortly before 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 13.

It is believed the assault took place in North Fork. Sheriff Varney is not releasing information about the victim in order to protect the teenager’s identity.

“What makes this case all the more egregious is that Buchholz knew his victim,” says Sheriff Varney. “He was able to win the trust of his victim, which we believe gave him leverage to commit this heinous assault.”
