New Oakhurst Clinic Opens Monday

OAKHURST – Eastern Madera County residents will soon have a new health-care facility, where medical services will be available to all, whether or not they have insurance.

Camarena Health plans to open the doors of its new Oakhurst Health Center on Monday, Aug. 27, at 49169 Road 426 in Oakhurst. The new, 3,500-square-foot clinic is across the street from the Sierra Tel offices, in the building that used to house Fullmer Appliance next to the Sierra Star.

Oakhurst Health Center will offer medical services three days a week at first, according to Eric Linville, Camarena’s director of community development, “and we look forward to expanding our hours of operation as time progresses.”

If a patient has no insurance coverage, Linville said, Camarena staff will assist them in enrolling in whatever health benefits program they qualify for. A sliding fee of charges will be based on income documentation and verification.

The clinic will charge from $35-$75 per visit, Linville said, with fees varying for each patient, based on income.

“Camarena Health’s main objective with this new health center is to meet the growing medical needs of the residents of Eastern Madera County,” Linville said in a recent news release.

“We are extremely grateful for the opportunity to expand our medical services to serve the residents of Eastern Madera County,” said Camarena CEO Paulo Soares. “We take great pride in providing these services and look forward to meeting and supporting as many people as possible.”

  1. This is very good news for many people up here in our mountain communities who have had to go without medical care for financial reasons. I am sure that the limited hours they are open to begin with will end shortly due to the need of treatments and care up here.
