OAKHURST – If you’re a fan of mystery stories, you may want to stop by Branches Books on Friday, Dec. 6, at 6 p.m. to meet local author Jennifer Moss.
Moss penned “Way to Go,” the second in her Ryan Doherty series of mysteries with a metaphysical twist. The first book is, “Town Red.”
The author moved to Oakhurst two years ago after living in Los Angeles for twenty years.
“I love living in the mountains,” Moss said, “and it’s so conducive to writing since it’s quiet and peaceful. Yet, we have a really supportive writing and reading community!”
Her books will be available at Branches and the Oakhurst Branch Library. Moss is also the founder of BabyNames.com, an online resource with the tag line, “Naming the world… one baby at a time.”
In “Way to Go,” according to the author’s press, Detective Ryan Doherty is skeptical when motivational speaker Jessica Way walks in to the squad room reporting death threats against her, especially since the threat letters appear to be in her own handwriting.
When Jessica turns up dead the next day, Ryan and his partner Matt Di Santo are put on the case. Within hours of the murder Jessica’s twelve year old daughter Hannah goes missing, and they turn to psychic empathy Catharine Lulling for help. How far over the line is Ryan willing to go to find Hannah – and her mother’s killer?
