NORTH FORK — You still have a chance to catch Squirrel Cage Theatre’s “Monster Soup” this weekend, Friday and Saturday, Nov. 2 & 3, at the North Fork Town Hall.
Tim Kelly’s ghoulish hit is full of surprises. It’s the story of a family of ghouls being harassed by Lawyer Fleasom, the meanest man in Graveyard Corners. It’s a hilarious spoof on a melodrama with a surprise ending.
The “Monster” cast includes: Elaine Fink as Granny Ghoul, Karen McAleece as Belle, Sharon Snyder as Pearl, Terry Butler as Minnie, Amy Duke as Ada Mae, David Novell as Lawyer Fleasom, Al Flory as The Preacher and Michael Doornbos as Professor Barker.
The evening begins with dinner at 6 p.m., orchestrated by Roz Thrapp. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., with a no-host bar staffed by the North Fork Boosters. Show starts at 7 p.m.
Included in the evening, will be our very own “Old Geezers” played by Barry Shrewsbury, Dale Clugston and Al Flory.
You also will be treated to a musical skit from the very talented Amy Duke, David Novell and Jeff Gurule, with help from Chloe Duke, followed by “Thriller,” performed by a ghoulish group of local dancers, choreographed by Terry Butler.
Then there’s a special performance of the “Ladies of the Mop” with Elaine Fink reprising a role she first performed in the 1970s. Elaine will be accompanied by a few lovely “mop ladies.”
Admission, which includes dinner and the show, is $12 for adults, $6 for children 12 and under, or $30 for a family (immediate family only).
