MARIPOSA – The Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office collected 302 pounds of unneeded and unwanted prescription medications during their Drug Take Back event on Sept. 27.
The Sheriff’s Office staffed three locations around the county to collect any unwanted prescription drugs from citizens.
“When you look at this as possibly taking 302 pounds of script meds out of circulation, that could get into the hands of children or addicts, this is a really good program,” says Sheriff Doug Binnewies. “We are glad to partner with the DEA and continue this public safety program to better our communities.”
