Madera County Sheriff’s Log Through August 26

MADERA COUNTY – Following are details from the Madera County Sheriff’s Office of reports taken locally from Monday, Aug. 20, to Sunday, Aug. 26, 2018.

Oakhurst missing person
On Monday, Aug. 20 at 2 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to a residence located within the 38000 block of Wortham Road regarding a report of a missing adult. The missing adult was entered into the Missing and Unidentified Persons System (MUPS) of NCIC. A search of the missing adult met with negative results. This case has been forwarded to the Sheriff’s Detective Divison for follow up investigation.

North Fork warrant arrest
On Monday, Aug. 20 at 8:57 a.m. deputies attempted to contact a subject on Amber Lane who had three active warrants. Deputies contacted the individual, the warrants were confirmed and the subject was booked into Madera County Jail.

Oakhurst stabbing
On Monday, Aug. 20 at at 10:34 a.m. deputies were dispatched to the area of Royal Oaks Drive and Highway 41 regarding a suspect that had been stabbed. The suspect was located by Madera Sheriffs K9 unit and SWAT, where he was arrested then transported to Madera County DOC for attempted murder.

Oakhurst danger to self
On Monday, Aug. 20 at at 9:59 p.m. a deputy responded in regards to a female subject wanting to harm herself. The female was contacted and found to be a danger to herself. A 72-hour hold was placed on her and she was sent to an area hospital for a mental evaluation. A report was written for documentation purposes.

Oakhurst found bicycle
On Tuesday, Aug. 21 at 11:32 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 49000 block of Civic Circle for a found bicycle. A Deputy arrived and took possession of the found bicycle.

Coarsegold coroner’s call 
On Tuesday, Aug. 21 at 1:48 p.m. deputies were dispatched to the 31000 block of Bobcat Court in regards to a coroner investigation. The death appeared to be from natural causes. A report was taken and will be forwarded to the Chief Deputy Coroner for review.

Oakhurst motor vehicle stop results in deputies finding small amount of methamphetamine
On Tuesday, Aug. 21 at 5:28 p.m. deputies performed a vehicle check in the area of the 40000 block of Highway 49. Upon contact with the subjects, and upon a probation search of the vehicle, a small amount of methamphetamine was located. The methamphetamine was collected and placed into evidence. Report written and forwarded to the District Attorney’s office.

Oakhurst theft
On Tuesday, Aug. 21 at 5:15 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a business located within the 42000 block of CA-41 regarding a report of a theft. This case has been forwarded to the Madera County Sheriff’s Detective Division for follow up investigation.

Coarsegold violation of restraining order, felony warrant
On Tuesday, Aug. 21 at 11:45 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a business located within the 46000 block of Lucky Lane regarding a report of a violation of a restraining order in progress. During the investigation deputy determined a valid workplace restraining order had been issued and served to a male who was seen at the business entering a hotel room. The male was contacted, identified and placed into custody. The male was also found to have an outstanding felony warrant for his arrest. This case has been forwarded to the Madera County DA’s Office for the filing of related charge.

Oakhurst possession of narcotics and paraphernalia, prohibited weapon
On Wednesday, Aug. 22 at 2:33 p.m. a deputy conducted a traffic stop in the area of Westlake Drive and Highway 49 for a vehicle with expired registration. The driver of the vehicle was found to be in possession of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, a person prohibited from possessing any gun. The male driver was arrested and booked into the Madera County DOC for possessing of drugs, possession of drug
paraphernalia, and a parole violation.

Coarsegold found property
On Wednesday, Aug. 22 at 9:24 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 46000 block of Luck Lane regarding found property on casino grounds. There is no owner for the property and it was booked as found and can be disposed of. This case may be closed.

Coarsegold danger to self
On Thursday, Aug. 23 at 10:39 a.m. a deputy was dispatched regarding a suicidal female. The female was contacted, evaluated, and turned over to ambulance personnel for further treatment and transport to the Madera Community Hospital. Forward a copy of this report to Madera County Mental Health.

North Fork report of possible elder abuse
On Thursday, Aug. 23 at 11:37 a.m. a deputy was dispatched regarding a report of possible elder abuse. There is no crime involved in this incident. This report is for documentation only. Case to be closed.

Bass Lake vehicle stop results in narcotics citation
On Thursday, Aug. 23 at 2:38 p.m. a deputy stopped a vehicle in the Chepo Saddle Trail and Road 274 area which resulted in a subject being cited and released for narcotic violations and the other for vehicle code violations. Forward the case to the Madera County DA for charges.

Coarsegold found property
On Thursday, Aug. 23 at 2:22 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 46000 block of Lucky Lane regarding property that was left in a hotel room. There are no crimes and the casino staff advised it was their policy to turn property over to the Sheriff’s Office. MCSO called the owner for the casino and advised it was booked into property. This case may be closed.

Oakhurst coroner’s case
On Thursday, Aug. 23 at 11:03 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 39000 block of Highway 41 in regards to a coroner’s case. An investigation was completed and a report was written. Case was forwarded to the Madera County Sheriff’s Chief Coroner for final disposition.

Oakhurst altercation
On Friday, Aug. 24 at 1:58 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 54000 block of Rd 432 in regards to a fight. An investigation was conducted and one arrest was made. The subject was booked into DOC and a report was written.

Oakhurst missing person
On Saturday, Aug. 25 at 4:28 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 39000 block of Road 425B for a missing person report. An investigation was conducted and the area was checked for the missing person. The missing person was entered into the Missing Unidentified Persons System and a report was
written.

Bass Lake disturbance
On Saturday, Aug. 25 at 3:44 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 54000 block of Road 432 regarding a disturbance. Two females were arguing with each other and assaulted another subject, who refused to press charges. The female subjects drove off after being told to stop by deputies. BOL put out to CHP for possible DUI driver. Refer report closed.

Coarsegold theft
On Saturday, Aug. 25 at 8:25 p.m. a deputy responded to the 46000 block of Lucky Lane for a report of a theft. A report was taken. Case suspended due to lack of suspect info.

Oakhurst bike theft
On Saturday, Aug. 25 at 9:59 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 40000 block of highway 41 in regards to a theft of a bicycle. An investigation was conducted and report written.

Coarsegold welfare check
On Saturday, Aug. 25 at 10:36 p.m. deputies were dispatched to the 28000 block of Road 400 for a welfare check of a possible suicidal subject at a residence. Numerous attempts to contact the subject were made with negative results.
