Madera County Reports 82 More Cases; Total Rises to 1136

MADERA — Madera County Department of Public Health (MCDPH) officials reported 82 more cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, raising the total number of cases countywide to 1136. As of 4 p.m. Thursday, MCDPH is reporting 548 active cases — and 577 recoveries.

A recently added note on MCDPH’s website states that due to “state standardization under the new Cal CONNECT system,” Madera County’s daily reports now reflect the prior day’s statistics.

According to MCDPH’s latest update, fourteen people with coronavirus are currently hospitalized.

A total of 13,631 county residents have now been tested for COVID-19 and according to MCDPH’s data dashboard, there have been a total of 57 confirmed cases in Reporting Area D, which includes the foothill and mountain communities of eastern Madera County. That number increased by two over the past 24 hours.
