Madera County Reports 3,484 Covid-19 Cases

MADERA – Madera County Department of Public Health (MCDPH) is reporting 145 new cases as of  Aug. 24, 2020 bringing the total number of reported cases to 3,484.

According to the MCDPH dashboard there are 815 active cases including 16 Madera County residents hospitalized in Madera County, with 2,619 recovered and 50 deceased to date.

Reporting area D which includes the following zip codes, 93601, 93604, 93614, 93626, 93636, 93643, 93644, 93645, and 93669 with a total population of of 40,031 has 227 reported cases.

372 were contracted through person to person with 210 community spread. Two are travel-related, and 2,900 are still under investigation.

There have been a total of 36,426 tests results with 32,942 testing negative out of a population of 157,327 (2019 US Census Bureau.)
