Kops For Kids to Host Softball Tourney Fundraiser

MARIPOSA — Softball in December anyone? As a fundraiser for their Kops for Kids Program, the Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Sheriff’s Association is hosting a softball tournament on Saturday, Dec. 7, and Sunday, Dec. 8.

Team entry fees are $225, or $150 per team, if each team member provides a new, unwrapped toy.

The tournament will begin at 8 a.m. on Dec. 7.

The tournament is limited to eight teams with a 10-player minimum on a first-come, first-served basis.

The deadline for team entries is Dec. 2.

Each team is guaranteed three games. Teams may be co-ed, but male/female ratio is not required. All players must be 18 years of age. Tournament play will be governed by the ASA slow-pitch softball guidelines.

Play will be held at Woodland Park, located 3415 Woodland Drive in Mariposa, across from Woodland Elementary School.

All proceeds will go toward the Kops for Kids Program, which supports local families in need during the holiday season.

The will be free admission to the competition. Barbecue, nachos, snacks and drinks will be available for a small donation and raffle prizes will be awarded.
