In Remembrance of Brian D. Jones: May 28, 1959 – September 30, 2020

Brian Jones was a man of generous spirit, who was always available to share his skills, knowledge, talents and time. He was the kind of person who would share whatever he had with others, no matter what the personal sacrifice.

Brian passed on Sept. 30 after a yearlong fight with renal cancer. Brian’s passing is a great loss to the mountain community and a devastating loss to his colleagues, friends and most importantly his beloved wife, family and pets. His family and friends meant everything to him.

Brian grew up in Rosemead, California, and graduated from Rosemead High School in 1977. He married the love of his life, Rebecca, in 1988 and they were together until he took his last breath. He and Rebecca moved to Coarsegold in 2007 and he truly found his home here in the mountains.

Brian made his career in construction, and was considered a “Master Carpenter.” His top priority was achieving a quality product and making his customers happy. He had been nominated to Architectural Digest, and was in other articles and magazines due to the quality of his work. He had the skills and knowledge to make almost anything work, and his projects were praised by those whom he served. Brian had a way of making people feel calm and at ease and that “it’s OK, everything is going to work out.” He loved sharing his knowledge regarding anything he felt passionately about, and he was a mentor to many people.

Brian’s interests included fishing, camping in the Sierras, his ranch, working on his rose garden, spending time with his family, friends and colleagues and the mountain community. He was a private pilot and loved flying airplanes. We can all close our eyes and envision him at peace, up in the peaceful heavens.

Brian was the hardest working man anyone will ever know. He loved laughter and life and just wanted everyone to be happy and at peace. He never put himself first in any situation. All that knew him, know how fortunate they were to have had him in their lives.

Go rest high on that mountain Brian, be at peace, and know your work here on earth is finally done.

There will be a “Celebration of Life” memorial service for Brian Jones on November 14, 2020, at 12:00 p.m. It will be a potluck affair held on Brian’s property 42744 Rd. 415, in Coarsegold.
