Slammin’ Sammy K

“Slammin’ Sammy K” “Crane Dude, Jr.”

Beloved father, brother, uncle, cousin, and cherished friend Sam K. Hutchison passed away on Feb. 9, 2019 at home in Oakhurst, surrounded by loved ones, at the age of 62.

Sam was born to Virginia and William Hutchison at Grossmont Hospital in La Mesa, California, on Oct. 25, 1956.

Always fun-loving and curious, Sam was an adventurous man who loved the outdoors and never took himself too seriously. In his early 30s he married Stacy and, together, they began their life in Las Vegas, Nevada. In 1991 they were blessed with beautiful twin girls, Jessica and Jordan.

In 2001, Sam made his way to Oakhurst, California, where he joined his father to continue the family crane business, Oakhurst Crane.

Sam loved being a part of the crane business and the Oakhurst community. Mostly, he loved the friends he was able to make over the years and all the experiences the crane business gave him. Sam always looked forward to the annual Christmas tree lighting in Oakhurst and his trip with the Lemoore Firefighters for their Christmas tree cutting.

Preceded in death by his parents Virginia and William, ex-wife Stacy, sister-in-law Teri, and best friend Jay, Sam is survived by his daughters Jessica (Fred) and Jordan, siblings Deborah (Stan), Andy (Cindy), Joe, and Martha (Peter). He leaves behind nieces, nephews, cousins, his Aunt Marsha, many dear friends, and his best friend, Ava.

A memorial account has been set up for Sam and his family at the Central Valley Community Bank, in Sam’s name.

Loved ones will announce a Celebration of Life at a later date.
