HOW Dinner Benefits Laurie Zumwalt

Laurie Zumwalt Nov 2015OAKHURST – The local chapter of nonprofit organization Helping One Woman (HOW) will meet to honor Laurie Zumwalt at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 18, at El Cid’s Mexican Cuisine.

“Last spring, Laurie gave birth to a baby girl, Tauriel, who passed away just two weeks later due to a rate congenital defect,” say organizers. “Laurie and her husband, Dusten, are now saving to have another baby via in-vitro fertilization. She works as a labor and delivery nurse and her husband stays home with their small son. All monies from the door fee and prize drawings go directly to Laurie.”

Those participating in the HOW benefit dinner place $10 or more toward a contribution for Laurie, and pay for their own dinners. RSVP to El Cid at (559) 683-6668.

HOW logo (new)How members believe that “one woman giving $10 can buy another woman’s lunch. Ten women giving $10 can buy another woman’s groceries. One hundred women giving $10 can change another woman’s life. This is how HOW works.”
