Highway 41 Hazard Tree Removal Schedule

OAKHURST — Work continues this week north of Oakhurst, along with associated delays, as Caltrans crews continue to tackle the massive hazardous tree removal project that’s been taking place along the popular corridor since last fall.

Traffic control/road closure is in effect from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Apr. 10 through Thursday, Apr. 13. Crews will be stationed in the vicinity of mile marker 44.0, about one mile north of Cedar Valley Road. The crews will work continue moving north from there on Highway 41.

Work is expected to continue on and off up to Memorial Day, when Caltrans says the contractor will retreat to make way for a busy tourist season.

When trees are dropped in the hazard tree removal process, traffic is stopped for a limited time in both directions to accommodate the action.

Crews will be stopping traffic for 10-15 minutes at a time during this phase of the project. A 10-15 minute stoppage could mean some motorists will sit in traffic for up to 30-minutes, depending on traffic volume.

Drivers headed in that direction north of Oakhurst may want to build an extra 30-minutes into their travel time for the duration of the project.

We will continue to note crew locations as information becomes available.
