Harriett Ann Miller Cozean

Harriett Ann Miller Cozean of Oakhurst, California, was reunited with the angels on July 3, 2018. She passed away in her own home, just as she wanted. She was 93.

Her life began in Galva, Illinois on October 8, 1924, when she was born the only child to Edwin William Miller and Florence Dunn Miller. She met Rolla (Bud) Rutledge Cozean in the mid-forties; they married in 1948 – she was widowed in 1988. They made a life in Centralia, Ill., and she kept in touch with the community through her best friend, Jane Edmondson, when she moved to Oakhurst in 1993.

She is survived by her three children: Anne Cozean and Marty Ross Vining, both of North Fork, Calif.; and Danny Cozean of Centralia, Ill., as well as an honorary daughter Donna Picard, also of Centralia, Ill. In addition, she is survived by five grandchildren and one great-grandchild, all of whom she loved very much.

She taught piano to children in her earlier days and continued her love of playing the piano into her 90s. She enjoyed sitting in her garden and playing bridge at the Senior Center with good friends. Her sharp wit and sense of humor were appreciated by all who knew her.

Her ashes will be placed next to her husband Bud in Cornwall, Mo., later this year.

Being with her family and friends gave her great joy. She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
