Golden Chain Holds Auditions For Melodrama

OAKHURST – If you have aspirations toward the bright lights of Broadway, good luck. In the meantime, if you want to get involved with an established acting company right here in the foothills, now is the time to make your theatrical dreams come true.

Auditions for the next Golden Chain Theater (GTC) melodrama are coming up, as the local group preps for a new show.

GTC will next produce “A Golden Fleecing,” with roles available for the villain, hero, heroine, and others. “Fleecing” tells the story of a villain out to bilk the unsuspecting townsfolk out of their gold in the burg of Elbow Bend.

Auditions are Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, June 16, 17 and 18, from 5 – 7 p.m., at the theater.

“Actors need not have experience, just a willingness to experience the exciting opportunity to step back in time,” says volunteer Mary Lou Finley. “Men and women of all ages are encouraged to come and audition.”

The play runs July 26 through Aug. 24 on Saturdays and Sundays.
