Fresno Crash Claims Life Of YHS Graduate

FRESNO – A tragic crash at the intersection of Fresno Street and Herndon at around 7 a.m. this morning, has taken the life of a Yosemite High School graduate and former Oakhurst resident.

Matthew Harkenrider, 26, of Clovis, was killed when a woman who was reportedly speeding in a stolen SUV, ran a red light and smashed into his car.

The impact pushed his Mazda sedan into three other cars that were stopped at the light.

The driver of the stolen Kia, Roberta Lynn Soto, 45, of Kingsburg, was taken to a nearby hospital and has now been arrested for vehicular manslaughter, possessions of a stolen vehicle and felony DUI. Police say she was also driving with a suspended license. Reports are that she was under the influence of methamphetamine.
